Huskies Weekend Recap

Football: Defeated Cheyney 35-7 on Saturday, Oct. 26. Senior running back Franklyn Quiteh rushed for 114-yards, and scored four total touchdowns. Redshirt sophomore quarterback Tim Kelly completed 10 of 13 passes for 148-yards, while throwing for a touchdown and rushing for a touchdown. Senior wide receiver Glen Hutton Jr. caught six passes for 51-yards. On the defensive end, redshirt freshman Ezra Ranco recorded both an interception and a forced fumble. The Huskies next game will be Thursday, Oct. 31 at home against Shippensburg. Game time is scheduled for 8 p.m. and will be broadcasted on the CBS Sports Network.
Students are encouraged to sport their gold attire during the game that is being labeled a “Ghouls of Gold” night. All gold apparel at the University Store will be discounted 30% on Oct. 30 and 31 in light of the nationally televised event. Men’s Soccer: The men defeated Lock Haven 1-0 on Saturday, Oct. 26. Sophomore midfielder Chris Pawlowski scored the only goal of the game for the Huskies. The men’s next game will be Tuesday, Oct. 29 on the road against Shepherd. The game is set for a 2 p.m. start.
Women’s Soccer: The women defeated Lock Haven 4-2 on Saturday, Oct. 26. Senior forward Tara Huber tied a school record for most goals in a game by scoring all four goals for the Huskies. The women’s next game will be Wednesday, Oct. 30 at home against Clarion. The game is set for a 7 p.m. start.
Field Hockey: The women defeated Seton Hill 3-1 on Wednesday Oct. 23. Freshman forwards Stephanie Halsted and Laura Gerhard scored their first career goals, while senior defender Jaclyn Beasley scored her first goal of the season to lead the Huskies. The women then lost 2-1 in overtime to Millersville on Saturday, Oct. 26. Junior forward Felicia Domenici scored the only goal for Bloomsburg. The Huskies’ weekend ended with a 3-1 win over Limestone. Beasley scored two of the three goals, with senior forward Brittany Mathews scoring the other. Their next game will be Tuesday, Oct. 29 on the road at IUP. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
Women’s Cross Country: The women finished 7 as a team at the PSAC Championships on Friday, Oct. 25. Graduate student Vicki Davis earned All-PSAC honors and won her first ever PSAC title with a course record time of 21:34. Junior Lauren Lehman also earned All-PSAC honors with a 13 place finish and a time of 22:47. The women will compete next in the Go Fast River Run at Lock Haven University on Saturday, Nov. 2.
Men’s Cross Country: The men also competed at the PSAC Championships on Friday, Oct. 25. Junior Kyle Phillips finished 19 and earned All-PSAC honors with a time of 26:12 to lead the Huskies. The men will compete next in Go Fast River Run at Lock Haven University on Saturday, Nov. 2
