Bloomsburg- Several of our very own Bloomsburg Husky athletes have gained the attention of the entire Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference over the course of the spring semester with performances in their respective sports. Over the last two weeks, the athletes below have been named to various All-PSAC teams online as well as given other awards. Here are the athletes that have won various awards or been named to all-conference teams for the spring semester.

 

Brian Almand (Shortstop, Baseball) – A freshman from Haddon Township, New Jersey, Almand was named the 2013 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year. He was also named to the 2013 All-PSAC second team. Almand hit .357 with 60 hits and 39 RBI for the year.

Cait Paine (Pitcher, Softball) – A senior from Lebanon, Pennsylvania, Paine was named to the 2013 All-PSAC first team, as well as named the PSAC Pitcher of the Year for the second year in a row. She went 17-11 with 274 strikeouts and a 1.63 ERA.

Kayla McHale (Infielder, Softball) – A sophomore from Dillsburg, Pennsylvania, McHale was named to the 2013 All-PSAC first team. She hit .416 for the year with 64 hits and 35 runs scored.

Erika Yanora (Infielder/Outfielder, Softball) – A sophomore from Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania, Yanora was named to the 2013 All-PSAC first team. She hit .287 with 33 hits and 22 RBI for the year.

Rachel Fredell (First Basemen, Softball) – The junior from Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania, Fredell was named to the 2013 All-PSAC first team. She hit .351 with 53 hits and five home runs on the year.

Aubrey Bossert (Midfielder, Lacrosse) – A junior from Ambler, Pennsylvania, Bossert was named to the 2013 All-PSAC first team. Bossert had 35 ground balls and 46 draw controls on the year, and was the recipient of the PSAC Champion Scholar Award for the second year in a row.

Carly Ball (Defender, Lacrosse) – A sophomore from Lansdale, Pennsylvania, Ball was named to the 2013 All-PSAC third team. She was one of defensive the leaders on her team, with 34 ground balls and 11 draw controls.

Julie Falk (Midfielder, Lacrosse) – A sophomore from Millersville, Pennsylvania, Falk was named to the 2013 All-PSAC second team. On the year, she had 47 goals and 14 assists this season and recorded an eight goal performance against Mercyhurst.

Sara Bates (Goalie, Lacrosse) – A senior from Wading River, in New York, Bates was named to the 2013 All-PSAC first team. She played over 1,000 minutes in net for the Huskies and saved 123 shots.

Sam Mazzie (Midfielder, Lacrosse) – A senior from Barto, Pennsylvania, Mazzie was named to the 2013 All-PSAC second team. She had 45 goals and seven assists for a total of 52 points in her final season for the Huskies.
