Huskies Roll Past ESU in PSAC Quarters

Bloomsburg, Pa—The Bloomsburg University women’s basketball team kept on rolling Tuesday night, defeating East Stroudsburg University 76-51 at the Nelson Field House.
The women, led by Jocelyn Ford (Jr. G), jumped out to a 37-22 halftime lead and never looked back. The win marked the 17th consecutive victory for the Huskies, who are currently ranked 14th in Division II. Ford scored a game-high 19 points (7-8 shooting), grabbed six rebounds and dished out three assists.
Assisting Ford on offense was recently crowned PSAC East Player of the Year Catherine Noack (Sr. G). Noack scored 14 of her 16 total points in the second half, including a stretch of four consecutive 3-pointers made.
Marla Simmons (Jr. G/F) and Brianna Dudeck (Sr. G) each chipped in 11 points on a combined 8-12 shooting. As a team, the Huskies shot 56.9% from the field (29-51), 58.3% from 3-point range (7-12), and 91.7% from the foul line (11-12).
With Bloomsburg stretching their lead to as many as 31 points in the second half, eight different players registered at least 15 minutes of playing time, and nine different players scored in total.
With the win, the Huskies advanced to the PSAC Semifinals, where they will play against Gannon on Saturday, March 8 at 1 p.m. This will be the fourth consecutive year that the Huskies have been one of the final four teams left in the PSAC tournament. They won the PSAC title last year, defeating Gannon 74-57 at the Nelson Field House.
