How to Prep Your Face For Makeup

Beautiful skin is what most women aim to have and it is a must. Has your face ever broken out or you did not know what to do to properly prep your face before you apply your make up? Many young  women adore getting dazzled up for a night out or even just for a normal day. Applying foundation, BB Cream, false lashes, highlight and contour, and lipstick can be exciting to do especially when creating new looks. However, what’s really important is taking care of your skin. Makeup has a lot of chemicals in it to create color and pigment.  You don’t want your skin to be so damaged to the point where you receive harsh blemishes, acne, and pimples. Here are the basic steps on how to properly cleanse and protect your skin for that flawless and healthy look.

Step 1: Cleanse Your Face

Purchase a facial cleanser that is right for your skin type. If you have oily skin, I suggest you buy a product that does not leave oily residue when you completely wash it off. If you have dry skin, look for simple ingredients that are natural and won’t make your face so dry and cracked. You should do this first step once every night before bed and one time during the day. If you have acne, purchase some oil free acne wash cleansers also. Here are two cleanser products you will enjoy:

neutrogenaoil wash

The Neutrogena Healthy Skin Boosters takes away all the dirt and oil left behind without over drying your skin. It is infused with antioxidant white tea and vitamin E to give you the natural softness, evenness, and radiance for a glowing and healthy finish. The oil free acne wash foaming scrub powerfully clears away blemishes and blackheads with acne medicine and blasts of grapefruit. Note: If you are allergic to any citrus, stay away from this product. You can get other products like this that are more natural without any allergens.

Step 2: Selecting pH Balance

Choose a pH Balance. If you have oily skin or are acne prone, select a higher pH balance such as a 6 or a 7. If you have dry skin, select a lower pH balance such as 4 or 5. This will help your skin even out and fight off any bacteria left behind.

Step 3: Exfoliating Your Skin

Purchase a gentle scrub that includes some particles such as sand or sugar. These ingredients should be as natural as possible. Exfoliating the skin gets deep into the skin pores and makes your face feel fresh.

The Clean and Clear deep action exfoliating scrub gently cleans pores and has a cooling sensation for that fresh and healthy feeling. This is for oily, natural or a combination of both skin types. The Clinique 7 Day exfoliating scrub cream fights dry skin and refines. It helps minimize those fine lines and clears the way for moisture.

Step 4: Apply Serum

Applying serum will give your face the moisture it needs all day long for your makeup. Choose a serum that has Vitamin C in it. It will give you the glow you are looking for .

Step 5: Moisturize Your Skin

It is very important to moisturize your skin daily in order to help your skin feel soft and rejuvenated. It should contain atleast SPF 15 to protect your skin from harmful sun rays.

Step 6: Prime Your Face

This is the last step you should do in order for your makeup to have a flawless finish. It also helps you to apply your makeup more gradually. Only use small portions of this product; A little amount goes a long way.
