Time Warner Inc. wants HBO to be the next Netflix. They have devised a plan but little to nothing has leaked to the public. You might think, “Don’t they already have HBO Go?” Yes, but HBO Go is only for people who have HBO in their cable plan.
So the goal here would be to make HBO more conceivable for the younger generations who usually don’t pay for cable TV. Younger people aren’t prone to paying for cable TV and package bundles; they’ll just use Netflix or watch TV illegally.
HBO wants to tap into the industry that Netflix has clearly done so well in. Netflix has paved a whole new dimension for watching TV and in due time HBO will potentially look fairly similar. Stay tuned for more details because this battle will surely be one to watch.
