The usual weekend Twitter feed for most Bloomsburg University students could probably be considered insignificant and pretty insubstantial.

However, this past weekend was different. There is a certain trend sweeping through Twitter that is impossible to ignore, and it’s taking over our feeds: #HarryTweetKelcey.

Kelcey Hallinan, 18, is from Dunmore Pa, and was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2011. Her dream to meet Harry Styles, from the popular boy band, One Direction, was granted by the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Unfortunately, Kelcey is not going to be well enough to do so.

So a few Dunmore graduates decided to embark on a new goal for Kelcey, which was to have Harry Styles tweet at her. It began with a small few, tweeting “#HarryTweetKelcey,” trying to catch the star’s attention, but it has since grown much bigger than that, and even the LIVESTRONG foundation is tweeting #HarryTweetKelcey.

The hashtag is extremely close to heart for Chrissy Cuddey, a Junior at Bloomsburg University, who practically watched Kelcey grow up, “Her older sister Molly was one of my first friends from Dunmore, so I’ve known the Hallinan’s since I was about eight,” she said. “They are just such a nice loving family.”

Cuddey said, “Everyone in Dunmore is very close and tied together in some way. Even people that don’t know Kelcey are reaching out in every way possible to make her simple request come true.”

What are you waiting for? It’s time to use those 140 characters for something worthwhile and tweet #HarryTweetKelcey.

Harry did in fact respond to all of those hashtags, and tweet, “Hi @kelceyhal it’s nice to ‘meet’ you. I’m thinking about you.. And sending you all my love. H .xx”
