Fun 21st Birthday Ideas

You’ve been counting down the days, and it’s finally here. You’re 21st birthday. For some, turning 21 is an important milestone in life. For others, it’s just a day where you can finally legally do everything you’ve already been doing since you were 15. Either way, your 21st birthday should be celebrated. If you still have no plans and are looking for something memorable to do, here are a few alcoholic and non-alcoholic ideas:
1. Party
This is the obvious one. Not the most original but still fun now that you’re of the legal age to drink alcohol. Take a trip to Atlantic City for the weekend with your closest friends. Go all out and celebrate your 21st in Vegas. Or just go to your favorite bar or restaurant in your hometown and proudly show off that newly legal ID.
2. Wine Tasting
Skip the typical bar hopping. For a more sophisticated and intimate idea, invite five to 10 of your closest 21 and over friends, and have a wine tasting party. Spend the day at a winery or vineyard tasting different wines. Even if you’re not a wine connoisseur, a wine tasting is still a fun and relaxing way to spend your special day. Don’t forget about the designated driver.
3. Have a Mocktail Party
Invite all your friends and make fun fruity non-alcoholic drinks like virgin strawberry daiquiris and piña coladas. Crystal light now sells mocktail mixes—just add water and you’re ready to go. Mocktail drinks are a great way to come up with your own fun, and maybe even a little weird but yummy drink.
4. Play Drinking Games.
You don’t have to drink to find drinking games fun. Get everyone a bottle of water, or use your mocktails from the party, and learn about each other through games like ‘Never Have I Ever’ or just get competitive with Beer Pong/flip cup.
Another way to spice things up would be to play pong, and instead of beer fill the cups with carrot juice, or a totally out there, horrible tasting smoothie and turn a typical game of pong into something like fear factor.
Turning 21 is a huge milestone but not being able to remember anything or waking up with a massive hang over just isn’t for everyone. Whatever you’re into, you can still have fun and make your 21st birthday memorable with some of these ideas!
