Bloomsburg University, Bloomsburg, PA – The Flood Buddies hosted a bake sale at the Bloomsburg Area High School Homecoming game at Redman Stadium on Oct. 7, 2011 to benefit children of the school district who were displaced by the recent flooding—Collecting a total donation of over $840.

Students of Dr. Ganahl’s senior public relations class worked closely with National Honor Society students at the high school and their advisor, Rachel Mollette, to coordinate the event and are proud to announce a total of over $840 in donations. “We weren’t anticipating such large numbers for the bake sale,” said Bethany Homiak, a member of the Flood Buddies. “The community really came together to help aid those who lost their homes.”

It doesn’t stop there, ladies and gentleman! The Flood Buddies will be coordinating several events throughout the semester, the next event being an event for the children held at Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble on Oct. 15, 2011. Friend the Flood Buddies on Facebook for more information on their upcoming events—they’re under ‘Bloom Flood Buddies’!
