Quilts For Kids donated more than 60 quilts to the Flood Buddies to distribute to BASD students affected by the flood.
BLOOMSBURG UNIVERSITY, Bloomsburg, PA- The BloomsburgFlood Buddies partnered with the Paxinos chapter of the non-profit organization Quilts For Kids to distribute hand-made quilts to the Bloomsburg Area School District students who were left with nothing after this year’s devastating flood. The quilts were given to Bloomsburg High School’s National Honor Society on Nov. 17.
Quilts For Kids generously donated more than 60 quilts to the Flood Buddies to help give comfort to the children who suffered substantial loss from the flood. This is the third event hosted by the Flood Buddies, which is a product of the combined efforts by members of Dr. Richard Ganahl’s senior level public relations class and the Bloomsburg Area High School National Honors Society. To date, the Flood Buddies have raised approximately $1,800.
Brooke Samsel, a member of the Flood Buddies, enjoys helping the community and thinks highly of the group’s efforts. “Quilts For Kids is an amazing organization whose efforts have provided over 60 quilts for those affected by the flood. This is just another great way to help and will be a necessary donation as we head into the cold winter months.”
The Quilts For Kids organization is always looking for volunteers and fabric donations. If you’re interested in helping, you can reach Gail Roadarmel, the Central Pa. Quilts for Kids Chapter President, at CentralPaQFK@gmail.com or Mona Bartholomew, a member, at bartholomewfarms@frontiernet.net.
