Bloomsburg Baseball is a team that’s had some highs and a few lows over the past few years. In 2019 and 2021, they were the PSAC champions. The team has consistently, over the past few years, been ending where the wins outweigh the losses. After those two PSAC championship wins back-to-back, the team still competed well last season but fell short of making the playoffs last year. With the past few major wins our team has had this past season, the chances of making the playoffs and possibly winning it are very high.

Over the weekend, the Huskies won the series over #9 nationally ranked East Stroudsburg University, confirming a higher spot for next week’s updated ranking list. With these wins, the team had two PSAC players of the week. The first was Eli Riley, with a .538 hitting percentage on the weekend, with a total of six RBIs, seven runs scored, two doubles, and two home runs. The second player with this Player of the Week win was Nate Baranski. Baranski pitched a complete seven-inning game. He pitched four strikeouts and only allowed one unearned run. This led the team to an 8-1 win. He also picked up the NCBWA Atlantic Region Player of the Week for how he played this past weekend as a whole. In total, he pitched 11 strikeouts in 13 innings pitched. These two players are leading the way for the chance to make the PSAC tournament this season.

The Huskies also recently won against West Chester University, Pitt-Johnstown, Clarion, and Kutztown. These major wins and the continuation of their hot streak are what could lead them to possibly another PSAC championship-winning season. The biggest competition that this team faces in the future is Millersville, the number 1 seed in all PSAC and #2 in the NCBWA Atlantic Region rankings. The team is currently 31-6 and it will be a tough and exciting game to watch. The Huskies are set to play Chestnut Hill on Friday night at 6 PM.
