BUSVA’s 1st Annual Military Appreciation Day

BUSVA (Bloomsburg University Student Veteran Association) is holding its 1st Annual Military Appreciation Day on Thursday, April 14th, 2011 at Bloomsburg University from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The event will be held on Bloomsburg University’s campus on the Lycoming lawn, Schuykill lawn and Scranton Commons Amphitheatre.
BUSVA is a student run organization that is made up of both student veterans and students who support the military. The members of BUSVA have been organizing and developing this event for months. The main goal for this event is to promote the support and appreciation for all of the members of the five branches of the military who have served or are currently in the service. Since this event is solely about showing one’s appreciation, there is no cost to attend the event; however, donations are greatly appreciated and will be distributed to various charities.
Military Appreciation Day is open to the entire community. All students, veterans, teachers, friends and family are welcomed to attend. There will be activities for all ages, guest speakers, food, raffles, eating contests, and entertainment throughout the day. Some activities that will be happening throughout the day include: military vehicles on campus for viewing/pictures, obstacle course/boot camp style course, tug of war, pull up challenge, wing eating contest, pie eating contests, balloon animals, face painting, and carnival games.
This will be a fun, entertaining, and patriotic event for the whole community to attend. Please come and show your appreciation and support for the Military!
