We were promised a jaw-dropping show and that is what we got from last night’s 2014 MTV Movie Awards! From intense lip locks, to scandalous photos, and shirtless stars, the MTV stage certainly heated up fast.

With a quick but adorable pre-show hosted by Zendaya, the MTV Movie Awards were kicked off at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live. Rihanna was given the first award of the night for Best Cameo Performance in This is the End. Puppies were the stars of the red carpet that everyone gushed over. The biggest moment of the 30 minute pre-show was the preview of Shailene Woodley’s newest film, “The Fault in Our Stars.” Woodley and her co-star Ansel Elgort introduced the emotional clip. The movie, which hits theaters June 6, is based on the acclaimed novel by John Green about two teens who fall in love after meeting at a cancer support group.

This would not be a complete recap without talking red carpet fashion. Some stars were dressed to kill, while others just killed their fashion credibility completely. Let’s just begin with the flawless Lupita Nyong’o. The “12 Years of Slave” actress showed up to the carpet in a rainbow colored Chanel dress with a pop of color in her neon blue pointed stilettos. She gave off a little bit of a piñata look but she rocked it as usual.

There seemed to be a trend of plain black dresses on the carpet this awards show. Nicki Minaj, JWoww, and Rita Ora all supported the black trend while strutting their gorgeous physiques through the crowd of screaming fans. Minaj toned down her look surprisingly in her “LBD (long black dress)” as E! would say, but still looked amazing. Ora opted for the LBD as well but with a breathtaking, deep neckline, plunge which turned heads. JWoww went for the long sleeve LBD that revealed her growing baby bump, with a deep, bedazzled v-neckline.

Other best dressed stars  would be Jessica Alba who stunned in a bright yellow skirt and white tube top and Shailene Woodley who is America’s newest obsession on the carpet. Woodley was head-to-toe perfection in a matching green, high-fashion crop top and skirt.

It must be acknowledge that it is indeed the season of the crop top. A few of the worst dressed were Kat Graham, Pia Mia, and Nikki Deloach. For the full red carpet fashion check out E! News.

Conan O’Brien was the lucky talk show personality chosen to host the awards show. The 50 celebrity cameo during the opening was a little too long and pointless for the beginning, but it was easily forgotten about when O’Brien’s hysterical “Kiss fight” skit aired. Even though it was a little long, O’Brien broke a world record for most celebrity cameos in a show open! According to E! News, “ he masterfully film-bombed 50 of the biggest names in pop culture including, Taylor Swift, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Samberg, Ashton Kutcher, Martin Scorsese, Demi Moore, Jessica Alba, Adam Sandler, Katy Perry, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Jack White, Emma Watson, Russell Crowe, Paul Rudd, and Skrillex (just to name a few).” With the host’s hilarious jokes and bubbly presence, he showed a little more than what viewers bargained for. O’Brien took a picture backstage letting it all hang out (if you know what we mean), and posted it to the teleprompter. The audience laughed but we cannot help but ask him to put that away. Maybe if Zac Efron took that dare, we would be more welcoming…

To jump start the awards the handsome actor Jared Leto, who flew in straight from Coachella and was still supporting his wrist bands, was awarded Best on-screen Transformation in “Dallas Buyers Club.” We cannot help but bring up the rumors of the two stars dating. Leto looked at Lupita Nyong’o for quite a long time, who presented him with the award and said, “Lupita, thank you. It’s an award in itself getting this from you.” Time will tell, but it seems as though there is an attraction there that Leto cannot seem to hide when she is in the room. The biggest winner at the show was no other than “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” taking home the golden popcorn for Movie of the Year. Josh Hutcherson and Jennifer Lawrence took home the awards for Best Male and Female Performance in “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.” Mila Kunis glowed in a plain, short, black dress as she and her  adorable, baby bump accepted the award for Best Villain in “Oz The Great and Powerful.”

The presenters stole the show more than the actual winners at some points. With the very good looking cast of the upcoming movie  “Neighbors,” Zac Efron, Seth Rogan, and Dave Franco all presented the award for Best Kiss and had a few smooches of themselves. The award went to Will Poulter, Emma Roberts and Jennifer Aniston in “We’re the Millers,” which was well deserved in our book seeing as it an epic, three-way on-screen kiss. But, the cast of  “Neighbors” had a trick up their sleeve. Before handing out the award they told the audience to check under their seats for a golden ticket that revealed one of their names. Once the three audience members discovered their tickets they were called to the stage for a very public kiss with the star on their ticket!

Another memorable presenter’s moment was the cast of the upcoming movie, “The Other Woman,” Cameron Diaz, Kate Upton, and Leslie Mann. The three blonde actresses were giving some pretty revealing, sexual comments when presenting the Best Male Performance award. Diaz voiced to the audience she would be Leonardo DiCaprio’s “wolf of wall street.” She also slipped-up when calling the Hunger Games “Catching Fires.” E! corrected her by saying “Oh Cameron- there is only one fire.”

One of the most mouthwatering moments of the night was when Zac Efron accepted the award for Best Shirtless Performance in “That Awkward Moment.” But right before that heavenly moment, Jessica Alba and Rita Ora presented the award and Alba had a not-so-bad John Travolta moment. The actress pronounced Efron’s name as “eeefron” and everyone picked up on it. The slip-up was definitely forgotten about when Efron entered the stage saying he was “speechless” and so were we when Ora snuck up behind him and viciously ripped open his blue, jean button down revealing his tan, chiseled, almost airbrush looking abs! His unforgettable moment trended on twitter as fans went wild! Including celeb blogger, Perez Hilton. The blogger is obsessed with Efron which he makes it no secret. He tweeted that he had to rewind the DVR which we are sure tons of viewers did. To see the jaw-dropping lip locks and more memorable moments check it all out, uncensored on E!.

Beautiful flashbacks into the acting careers of Channing Tatum and Mark Wahlberg were played at the movie awards as Tatum took MTV’s first ever Trailblazer award and Wahlberg took the Generation award home. Jonah Hill presented the award for Tatum with a hilarious, friendly speech. Hill kept referring to his good friend and co-star as Chan which was too cute. He went on to say what he thought “Chan” was as a trailblazer. Hill said, “a trailblazer is a super good looking guy that becomes the lead in movie,” as the audience cracked up in their seats. After accepting the Generation award, Wahlberg’s to-die-for Calvin Klein ad was still engraved in our heads but we snapped back to reality after his heartfelt speech. He went on to express his love for acting and making sure to mention how lucky he was for his beautiful wife and family.

A tear-jerking tribute to the recent passing of actor Paul Walker was presented by his friend and co-star Jordana Brewster. She had nothing but beautiful things to say about her late friend. A montage of Walker’s career and kind words by his pal, Vin Diesel was followed by her speech that had the audience in awe as the accomplished actor was recognized for his successful career and charity.

On to a lighter note, there were crowded lifting performances that topped off the night. 21 Pilots took out their masks, as well as dozens of masked people in a mosh pit for their performance of “Car Radio.” Eminem and Rihanna took the stage to perform their hit together, “Monster,” which foreshadowed what their summer tour will be like, and we are excited! Ellie Goulding took the stage for a chilling performance with her unique vocals and succeeded to please us as always. Zedd also made an unforgettable appearance, as always.

The box office will be heating up very soon as the MTV Movie Awards gave us a few previews that we cannot stop thinking about. Ellen Page introduced an exclusive preview of “X-Men: Days of Futures Past” that looks like it will be a money-maker to say the least. Shailene Woodley’s next project, “The Fault in Our Stars” looks like it will be the next love story of the century. “Godzilla” looks like it will be the next big, action thriller, especially with the ever-so-beautiful Aaron Johnson and Bryan Cranston, better known as Walter White starring .

The 2014 MTV Movie Awards were action-packed, jaw-dropping, mouthwatering, and overwhelming (in a good way), to say the least. We do not know how this awards show can be topped next year, but we cannot wait to see what is in store for us! To see the full coverage check www.eonline.com. Until then, we will be in MTV Movie Award recovery, especially from Zac Efron’s abs!
