Sausage Party: A Cartoon Not Suitable for Children

There’s a new trailer for an upcoming movie, Sausage Party, taking the social media world by storm, and for good reason. The cartoon’s trailer starts out innocent enough when a grocery store of animated produce is excitedly chanting for the customer to pick them and take them home as cheerful music plays. As some are selected they smile and cheer with delight. However, when the produce gets to the customer’s home, the trailer suddenly switches from PG to R as they discover the truth about what humans really do with food…eat it.
The cartoon is almost gruesome as the food is prepared to be eaten, but it is somehow hysterical as they start cursing and screaming. It is now clear that this movie is not suitable for children. We are familiar with cartoons for adults such as Family Guy, American Dad, and South Park, but they are all television shows. So, it’s interesting that there will be a cartoon movie for adults. The film is written by the writers of Superbad and Pineapple Express, so no surprise that it is both comical and wildly inappropriate.
The movie is set to release in Aug. 2016 and features a star studded comedic cast including Seth Rogan, Jonah Hill, Kristen Wiig, Salma Hayek, James Franco, Michael Cera, and many more.
