Please Excuse The Interruption

Everyone remembers Kanye West’s infamous takeover at the 2009 VMA’s he interrupted Taylor Swift while she was accepting her award for “Best Female Video, “and he made his thoughts known on who the real winner should have been… Beyonce. After he took the microphone from Swift, embarrassing not just himself but Beyonce and Jay-Z as well, he later apologized for his outburst on Beyonce having “the best video of all time.”
So at this year’s Grammy’s, Kanye took to the stage during someone else’s acceptance speech. This time his explanations may be somewhat concerning. Although this time West stopped himself midway from making a statement on why Beck should not have won “Album of The Year”. He later stated he should give his Grammy to Beyonce. Whom he believes is “one of the most respected musicians in the game.” In response to Kanye’s outburst, Beck stated, “You can’t please everybody. I still love him and think he’s a genius. I aspire to what he does. How many great records has he put out in the last five years, right?”
Later on in an interview for “On Air With Ryan Seacrest,” West admitted to hearing voices in his head telling him to go up on stage. Should we be concerned for West’s well being after openly admitting to hearing voices inside his head? It seems maybe West should get himself checked out after this one…we may never know exactly what goes on in that mind. Although, it seems as if he does these antics for publicity, all while embarrassing not only himself but his fellow artists as well. One fellow artist and friend, John Legend, stated in reference to West’s comments “I disagree with those comments. Beck is indeed a true artist…While his win may have been a surprise to many, it’s not because he’s not a great artist deserving of recognition.” Legend was kind with his words in showing mutual respect for both artists all while defending himself remarking that his imitation of the 2009 interruption was humorous.
