My Friend Dahmer Trailer

On Nov. 3, 2017, a new film, is set to release which details one of America’s most infamous serial killers, Jeffrey Dahmer’s, high school experience. The film is based on the 2012 graphic novel, My Friend Dahmer, by Derk Backderf. The graphic novel explores the true story of the boy Backderf knew as simply “Jeff,” not Jeffrey Dahmer the most notorious serial killer in the US. The graphic novel and in turn, the film, gives readers and audiences an inside view into Dahmer’s life before the murders. A Goodreads review states the graphic novel “creates a surprisingly sympathetic portrait of a disturbed young man struggling against the morbid urged emanating from the deep recesses of his psyche.”

Ross Lynch, who plays Dahmer, delivers a chilling performance in the film’s trailer. Lynche is better known for his role in the Disney Channel Original Series, “Austin and Ally” and his family band, R5. His role is certainly different from those we’ve seen him play in the past, but his depiction of Dahmer through the two minutes and 30 second trailer proves his acting skills have depth, and he is able to channel the dark and disturbed mind of Dahmer.

The film is directed and written by Marc Meyers. Other actors include Anne Heche, Alex Wolff, Dallas Roberts, and others. Check out the trailer below:
