Jazz Artist Sara Gazarek Rings in Christmas at BU

Through the Celebrity Artist Series, Sara Gazarek will come to Bloomsburg University to sing us into Christmas bliss, Christmas with Sara Gazarek will take place on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 8 p.m. in Mitrani Hall, Haas Center for the Arts.
This jazz vocalist, based in Los Angeles, has a stunningly smooth voice that resembles a lighter pitched Zooey Deschanel and Nora Jones. In Gazarek’s own words, her performance will insight the audience to “walk away from the show feeling something that they hadn’t felt when they walked in the room.” Her confidence supports how emotionally expressive she is, allowing her to glow on stage and to put an infectious smile on the face of the audience.
Gazarek focuses on the simplicity of a few musicians in her music, much like Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett had. Her latest album included only drums, bass, and piano blended together to make a beautiful jazz ensemble. Gazarek already holds four highly acclaimed albums under her belt at the age of 30, and continues to passionately create astonishing jazz melodies.
Gazarek has been described as “a delicacy unmatched by most of her contemporaries,” by Andrea Carter of JazzPolice.com. Her renditions of favorite Christmas jingles will ring the season in for the last Celebrity Artist Series performance of the semester.
