“Glee” Star Cory Menteith Found Dead

According to BBC, Cory Monteith, who played Finn Hudson in the popular Fox show, Glee, was  found dead at the Pacific Rim Hotel in Canada on Saturday, July 13.

Reported from TMZ, Monteith talked about his trip to rehab in 2011, “I don’t want kids to think it’s okay to drop out of school and get high, and they’ll be famous actors, too,” he said, “But for those people who might give up: Get real about what you want and go after it.”

Monteith has been on Glee since its start in 2009. His co-star and girlfriend Lea Michele, who plays Rachel Berry on the show, supported his decision going into rehab.

PEOPLE reported, a rep for Michele stated, “We ask that everyone kindly respect Lea’s privacy during this devastating time.”

Monteith did not appear in the final episodes of the fourth season due to seeking treatment for his drug problems. He was due back for filming of  the fifth season that was to air this coming September.

Fox regarded Monteith , “An exceptional talent and an even more exceptional person, he was a true joy to work with, and we will all miss him tremendously.” Fox News also send out  prayers to Monteith’s family and Lea Michele.

On Twitter, fellow Glee co-stars expressed their shock at his death and offered condolences to his loved ones.

Dot-Marie Jones, who plays Glee’s William McKinley High football coach, tweeted, “I have no words! My heart is broken. Cory was not only a hell of a friend; he was one amazing man that I will hold close to my heart forever.”

No foul play was reported and investigators believed that Monteith died alone in the room. The cause of death has not yet determined, but check back with BUnow for more updates on this story.
