“E! News” anchor announces diagnosis on “Today”
Giuliana Rancic, co-host of E! News, announced today that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Rancic decided to come forward to share her life changing news this morning on the Today Show.
Rancic is known for her role as co-host of E! News and E!’s Fashion Police. She also shares a reality show, Giuliana
and Bill, with husband and Apprentice winner, Bill Rancic. The Rancics have been known publicly to battle infertility on their show.
After going through two failed in-vitro-fertilization attempts, Giuliana Rancic decided to give the process a third try. Before getting her treatment done, her doctor recommended she get a routine mammogram just to be safe. If a woman is taking IVF treatments and has cancer, it can increase the intensity of the cancer make the disease harder to cure.
Her results eventually showed early stages of breast cancer. She remained brave, but shaken during her shocking interview early this morning.
Rancic will partake in her treatment later on during this week. The treatment process includes first undergoing surgery, then six and one-half week treatment of radiation. The Rancics remain optimistic throughout this entire process. There isn’t a doubt in their mind that she will defeat this disease, and will soon be blessed with a baby.
“I still want this baby … because this baby has saved my life,” she said.
