Disney has done it again. I’m talking about bringing the iconic fairytales we grew up watching to life in a modern day live action version. In March of 2015, “Cinderella” will hit the theatres. The film, directed by five-time Oscar-nominated actor/director Kenneth Branagh, stars Lily James as Cinderella, Cate Blanchett as the wicked stepmother, Helena Bonham as the fairy godmother, and many other actors portraying these characters.

The film follows the 1950 animated adaptation we all know and love, but with twists. We’ve seen Disney and Universal Pictures bring these tales back to life, with movies like “Maleficent,” “Snow White and the Huntsman,” “Peter Pan,” “Alice in Wonderland,” and “Oz the Great and Powerful.”

It’s always fun and entertaining to see what “theme” the director chooses to create with the film. It will be particularly interesting to see what they do with the love story in “Cinderella.” A lot of the modern fairytales focus more on inner beauty, and not “love at first sight.” We’ve also seen directors add more complexity to stories and teach their audiences more respected, valuable lessons.

“Cinderella” will be released on March 13, 2015 in U.S. theatres. The trailer is out now to give you a sneak peak of the outstanding cast, costumes, story, etc.
