“Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” Review

Thursday night I had the pleasure of seeing the new movie Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, which I’ll be referring to as B vs. S, with my friends. It was the first DC Comics movie I’ve seen since Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises. That being said, I was personally blown away by B vs. S.
Don’t worry, this review won’t spoil anything. We see B vs. S begin in the aftermath of the General Zod versus Superman fight from Man of Steel. From there, the plot goes on to unfold and the rest is history. You’ll have to see the movie for more details.
This movie has some great talent in it. I think Ben Affleck, who stars as Bruce Wayne/Batman, does a great job as the billionaire turned vigilante. Also, the Bat suit gets an awesome upgrade with some very cool battle armor. I was a huge fan. Affleck definitely nailed the Batman role in my opinion.
Next, we have Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman. Cavill reprises his role as Superman from his first film Man of Steel. Personally, I think Cavill does very well as the Kryptonian hero, Superman.
As for the female roles, both of them are great choices. Amy Adams returns to play her role as Lois Lane, Superman’s love interest and Kent’s co-worker at The Daily Planet. Adams was also in Man of Steel along with Cavill. Newcomer Gal Gadot blasts onto the screen as Wonder Woman and her character doesn’t disappoint. Other heroes that we see briefly are Cyborg, Aquaman, and the Flash. More of those characters along with B vs. S’ trio will band together in Justice League slated to release in 2017.
On the villainous side of things, Jesse Eisenberg puts a new twist on Lex Luthor. In the film, Luthor is bent on controlling Superman and even resurrects General Zod as the monstrous Doomsday. Eisenberg does well as Superman’s arch enemy.
All in all, I thought that the movie was really good compared to what early reviews were saying about it. B vs. S delivers great action sequences which sometimes left my jaw dropped. I’m a huge Batman fan and the new battle armor is so cool. Being the superhero nerd that I am this movie was straight up awesome. I’d highly recommend seeing Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and watching Gotham City, Metropolis, and the heroes we love battle it out.
