An A-List Singer Hospitalized

Miley Cyrus was hospitalized Tuesday, April 15, for what sources say was a severe allergic reaction to medication. That same day, the singer was supposed to hit the stage for a concert during her Bangerz Tour in Kansas City. A source confirmed to E! News that Miley had to cancel her show at the Sprint Center due to what was, “an absolutely horrible reaction”. The devastated star was quick to tweet her apologies to fans writing, “ Kansas I promise Im as ‘heartbroken’ (insert emoji here) as you are. I wanted so badly 2 b there 2night. Not being with yall makes me feel sh–tier than I already do”.

The 21-year-old performer tweeted a picture of her in a hospital bed saying, “Mr. Octopussy & some amazing Drs are taking good care of me”. As the illness continued Cyrus then had to cancel another show in St. Louis. She sadly tweeted, “I can’t get a hold of my team because it is so early so I want to be the one to tell my fans especially the ones trekking to get there…the hospital is sayin i won’t b released today therefore Im not going 2 make 2 St Louis. Im so sorry but somethings are outta my control.”

“Miley simply had a really sudden reaction to the antibiotic meds she had been taking to combat her flu virus and felt ‘beyond woozy’,” a source told E!. The health scare did not seem to come as a shock to some since Cyrus has been dealing with numerous health issues during her tour, which caused her to cancel a show in Charlotte, N.C. She tweeted about her under-the-weather-feelings before news of the reaction broke. One of many tweets stated, “fever fever go away”.

According to E!, fans wondered why shows were being canceled instead of rescheduled. A tour source told them it is because arena venues are “very complex” when trying to get artists back into perform because of the prior bookings of months in advance.

The former Disney star seems to be getting a lot of love from fans, but others are creating negative backlash. Harsh accusations of partying being the reason as to why the star was hospitalized created rapid buzz on the internet. A rep for the singer confirmed to E! that partying is not the issue. In fact, the “Adore You” singer was tweeting from her hospital bed about how upset she truly was. She tweeted, “mizzzzzeraaabbblleeee” and “humans can b so selfish. if any1 thinks id rather b layin in a hospital bed than doing what i love on stage theyre f–kin LAME. im miserable”. More tweets about her hospital stay and reaction to the false rumors are all here on her twitter page.

A rep for Cyrus told E! Wednesday, April 16, “This type of reaction can last from 5 to 27 days in these types of cases. She will remain hospitalized and is under doctor’s care until we see some improvement in her condition and is asking for your compassion and privacy at this time. Miley is devastated about missing shows and possibly disappointing her fans.” After tweeting she couldn’t stop crying, the “Wrecking Ball” singer took to Instagram Thursday, April 17 to post a “5amhospyselfie”.

As the tweets poured in, it was confirmed Saturday, April 19, the rest of the U.S. Bangerz tour dates were postponed by the singer. It was clear Miley tried to recover to the best of her abilities but this must have been her only option. E! revealed a statement from Pop Star’s website, existing tickets will be honored on the new dates, which include previously canceled and postponed dates, and the European leg of the tour will “go as planned.” Cyrus went on to tweet the rescheduled dates.

Unfortunately the ill, pop princess spent Easter Sunday and “4/20” in her hospital bed and she was not happy about it. As usual, Cyrus took to twitter to express her emotions tweeting, “Happy 420/ Easter! I’ll be where I’ve been the past week. In bed. Crying. NOT stoned. Wackkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk.”

Monday April 21, E! spilled that the blonde was not in Kansas anymore and was hospitalized  in a different undisclosed location. Then April 24, E! revealed the singer was finally released from her hospital bed and continuing the European leg of her tour as scheduled. After being released the Bangerz tour beauty took to Instagram to upload a selfie of her munching on pancakes, as well as a photo in her bed. According to E!, “Her next pic shows her sprawled in bed, fully covered in some sort of quilted dressing gown, while Wayne Coyne peers through the viewfinder of a camera set up on a tripod next to the bed.”

Shortly after her release from the hospital, Cyrus had a phone interview with Ryan Seacrest and Ellen K for On Air With Ryan Seacrest, where she broke her silence about her hospital stay. Happy to be getting back on the road, the artist admitted, “It was insane, I was begging the doctors to ‘Let me out to go do my show’ It was basically, ‘No way.'” For the full statement click here.

Just when Cyrus thought she was out of the woods, the performer has encountered a setback. E! reported today, April 30, that an official statement has been released regarding the tour. “Cyrus is continuing is continuing to recover form the severe reaction she suffered on April 15. After a period of improvement, Cyrus’ symptoms have returned and Doctor’s will not permit her to travel. Cyrus must remain under Doctor’s care at this time. The London date at O2 Arena will proceed as planned May 6th,” the statement unfortunately revealed. Shows scheduled for this Friday, May 2, and Sunday, May 4 will both be rescheduled for The Bangerz sold out tour. There is no word if the entire tour will be postponed yet. A source told E!, “Miley is very bummed about it.”

Hopefully the talented singer/actress makes a speedy recovery so she can get back to what she does best.
