Need an idea for a Valentine’s Day date?

Need an idea for the most romantic weekend of the year? BUnow has you covered!

Dinner and a Movie

Picture this: It’s a Friday evening. It’s cloudy and cold out… Perfect cuddling weather. Oh, you’re hungry? BOOM. We’re all of a sudden in the basement of Turkey Hill. The gas station? NO. The fancy restaurant off of I-80 in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. What’s on the menu tonight? Love, it is Valentine’s Day after all. We’ll have a fabulous dinner off the Children’s menu, you get the Kiddos Pizza and I, the chicken tenders. Dinner is not complete without special drinks to pair with the delicious food.

After having some of Turkey Hill Brewing’s own beer and wine, you’ll be ready for our next adventure. We take an Uber X, we’re not cheap and go to the movies. Only the finest AMC theatre in all of North-Eastern Pennsylvania.  What do we see you’re asking? Only the most romantic movie to hit theatres this Valentine’s Day…. Sonic the Hedgehog. An hour and 40 minutes later we walk out of the best movie ever. Did we even watch it? Of course not.

A Night Out On The Town

Luckily for anyone in love this time of year, Valentine’s Day has fallen on a Friday and this occasion calls for a picture-perfect date around town all night long.

Dinner dates are romantic but a full-on excursion speaks volumes. Take an adventure through the town of Bloomsburg and relish in your love for each other. Begin your night by stopping at the Salvation Army and picking out outfits for each other to wear. Not only will it be special that your partner picked your attire, but you will both know you contributed to a good cause.

Then stop into The Exchange art gallery and admire all of the beautiful art. Maybe this will inspire the next date idea–painting together!

Next stop, Rose Marie’s for a fancy dinner. Share some spaghetti and recreate the infamous Lady and the Tramp kiss scene.

After dinner, take a look in the record store and find the perfect soundtrack to express your love. Every couple has that one song that makes them think of each other–it will be even more romantic if you discover it together.

Next comes the best part–ice cream! Pick out your favorite flavors at the best desert hot spot in town: Brennan’s Big Chill. Share a sundae with your lover, a treat that comes with more than fifteen great toppings to hit the spot. The brisk February air will keep your delicious delicacy cool while you make your way to your final destination.

End the night with a relaxing view sitting on the edge of Bloom Beach under the stars; and if you didn’t forget your record player, now’s the great time to get it out! Relax and reminisce about all the good times you shared, and all the times you’re going to share while you listen to a handpicked song chosen just for you.

A Proposal

It’s a snowy February evening, and you and your date crave filet mignon.  Luckily, your date booked a reservation for Rose Marie’s down the street.  A nice candlelit dinner sets the mood for your booking at Art n’ Vino in Wilkes-Barre at 7 p.m.  On the way, you indulge in your couples’ playlist, remembering all the good times together.

Finally, you arrive at Art n’ Vino where you sit with your date and paint the canvas with the picture of the two of you.  After finishing your paintings, it’s time for another scenic drive to historic Jim Thorpe for a romantic horse-drawn carriage ride through the town’s downtown historic district at 10 p.m. To end your night and begin your Valentine’s Day weekend to never forget, a stay at Paradise Stream Hotel in Mount Pocono—the perfect place to propose to your sweetheart, and end the weekend with a bang. 😉

When you return home, your date will swoon even more when she realizes you planned all the stops to create the shape of a diamond.

RiverStage Community: ‘Cyrano’

Valentine’s Day for the tasteful.

Appreciate a modern telling of a classic romantic comedy with RiverStage Community’s “Cyrano.” Written by Edmond Rostand, “Cyrano” tells the story of a young swordsman of the same name who is enamored with the beautiful Roxane. Hindered by his looks he enlists in the help of the younger, handsome Christian, who’s bland personality leaves room for Cyrano’s poetry and love letters.

Set in Paris and the battlefields of France, this play is the perfect choice for Valentine’s Day. Student tickets are $8 and showtime is 7:30 p.m Friday the 14th. http://www.riverstagetheatre.org/new-2019-20-season/cyrano-de-bergerac/

The Ideal Valentine’s Day for the Night Owl

Valentine’s day in 2020 falls on a business day. Friday. The perfect day to have an unforgettable night. This date starts in Danville at Tee to Green where the couple can enjoy an immersive virtual reality adventure. Tee to Green has virtual reality rooms, a golf simulator on a 25-foot curved IMAX screen, and a fully private wet bar & lounge. They also offer a 4k TV for your viewing enjoyment, a fireplace, and SONOS audio surround sound.

After a few drinks and building up an appetite the couple will make their way to the Pine Barn Inn (which is also in Danville) to enjoy a delicious, yet fancy dinner. This restaurant has a special Valentine’s Day menu with prices you can’t ignore. For an appetizer the shrimp cocktail served with signature cocktail sauce is a must at $10. One of the main courses is named Land and Sea. For only $36 it comes with a slow-roasted 12 oz prime rib served au jus and horseradish sauce accompanied by a 5 oz lobster tail, a vegetable, and the starch of the day. All of this is served with a house salad. For dessert, the couple has a choice of chocolate mousse, creme brulee, a chocolate bomb (which is to die for), cheesecake, or rice pudding. This delicious meal will be paired with a bottle of wine. For a nightcap, the couple can head to Bloomsburg to get the best margarita in town.

Playa Cancun offers phenomenal margaritas with a variety of flavors. They have your choice of on-the-rocks or frozen. They also offer a salt or sugar-coated rim. Playa Cancun has three different sizes. Small, medium, and jumbo. The small costs $5 and the jumbo is $14, but is more than worth it to share with your date. Did I mention you get bottomless complimentary chips and salsa to go with? This Valentine’s date will more than impress your date and maybe even lead to a fun end to your night!

If you are hopelessly, yet romantically single, and read all the way up to this point, there is good news! Valentine’s Day is not exclusive to love birds. Dedicate the day to self-care and appreciation; nothing boosts confidence like a single-status. Smile throughout the day, it is only for twenty-four hours!
