FALL In Love With Art

Everyone knows that September in Bloomsburg means the fair is in town. In October, however, a beautiful fall display can be seen throughout the entirety of downtown until Friday, Nov. 1.
Students from local schools in the Bloomsburg area paint local business windows with articulate and colorful fall displays for all passersby to admire.
This half-century-old tradition has continued annually thanks to the help of more than 500 students’ creativity and the generosity of local businesses since the tradition first began.
The students’ hard work and efforts do not go unnoticed.
Each year the paintings get put into middle and high school categories to be judged for first, second, and third place within each category.
Participating schools include: Benton Jr./Sr. High, Bloomsburg Middle and High, Central Columbia Middle and High, Columbia County Christian, Greenwood Friends, and St. Columba.
The event is ever growing. Currently, 48 local businesses are happily involved with the art displays.
Next time you’re taking a downtown stroll, be sure to check out the windows and compliment the artists if you see them working on their masterpieces!
