This isn’t the first story of a dog shooting its owner, but the first of a tough pup named Trigger to fire back on its owner.
Allie Carter, 25, of Indiana was out hunting with her ten-year-old Labrador when the bizarre accident occurred at 10 a.m. on Oct. 26.
According to local authorities, Carter placed her 12-gauge shotgun on the ground while forgetting that the safety was off. The appropriately named pooch stepped on the trigger, shooting her in the foot moments later.
Indiana Conservation Officer Jonathon Boyd told the local news station that, “it was just an accident that occurred and just to serve as a stark reminder of some of the safety measures we should take.”
Carter allegedly never took a hunting education course according to NBC. Many officials in the area are using this
case as a precautionary tale on hunting safety.
Currently, Carter is recovering from minor foot injuries. Trigger had no comment on the matter
