Amanda, Amanda, Amanda, Amanda, show! We all remember Amanda Bynes as the adorably annoying, Nickelodeon, child star from sketch shows All That and The Amanda Show. Ever since her leave from acting, she has been spiraling out of control.
From bizarre activities at the gym, to various incidents in her car, she is on her way to being the next Britney. Her only competition for this title is our favorite hot mess, Lindsay Lohan, also known LiLo. LiLo is also a child star, but from the Disney channel.
LiLo feels that she received unfair treatment and tweeted. “Why did I get put in jail and a Nickelodeon star has had NO punishment(s) so far?” So lets rewind. How did Amanda Bynes go from this adorable shot on her show on the left, to the mug shot on the right?
Bynes has always been known for her quirkiness, and up until the recent years, it has been cute. She started off on the Nickelodeon sketch show All That. She was then given her own show, The Amanda Show where she showcased her sense of humor and was idolized by many children. She then continued with that personality in other films and TV shows such as What I like About You and What a Girl Wants. Right around the time she was named Maxim’s “America’s Sweetheart” where she states “she’s all grown up.
Bynes suddenly “retired” from acting because she “ didn’t love it anymore Then she suddenly fell off the face of the Earth. Is it possible that the lack of the “All about me attitude that she’s been fed since she was younger actually drove her off the deep end? The desire for attention changed her cute quirky personality into that of a basket case with a load of DUI’s and psychological issues It is also possible she’s just straight up lost her mind. Whatever the reason is, her endeavours are very entertaining to follow.
The incident on April 6 was a DUI, which she got off with a misdemeanor charge. Even though she rear-ended the cruiser then tried to drive away. She then proceeded to deny the DUI on twitter with, “I can’t help but laugh at all of you writing fake stories about me. I was not in any hit and runs. I don’t drink so the DUI is false.” On April 10, she smashed her rental car into another vehicle and drove away. The best part is that on June 6, when she pled not guilty(,) she looked for help at the top, and actually tweeted at President Obama.
“Hey @BarackObama … I don’t drink. Please fire the cop who arrested me. I also don’t hit and run. The end.”
On Aug. 4 she got into another hit and run, and on Aug. 25 they finally suspended her license, but wait, The law doesn’t apply to Amanda Bynes.She continued to drive around that day. On Sept. 13 she allegedly was smoking marijuana in her car.
On Sept. 16 her car is impounded and the roads were finally safe. Sept. 19 the judge warned her if she broke any more laws they would impose a very high bail.
Other than her careless driving, Bynes has also been reported to be talking to inanimate objects. Strange. On Sept. 17, she barricaded herself in a dressing room for two hours with no explanation other than she needed more time. When she came out, she pays for a few things, including a bathing suit that “she forgot she was wearing” under her dress, and leaves.
The next day she was kicked out of her spin class for “bizarre” behavior. She reportedly got off her bike and wandered around the room until she found a different bike. Once she is on it, she took off her shirt to reveal a strapless push up bra, instead of a sports bra and then proceeded to start applying make up. There have also been reports of her breaking out in fits of laughter on the treadmill.
Disney and Nickelodeon are starting to develop a record of putting out psychologically damaged stars. Amanda Bynes has become pretty crazy, but she hasn’t reached Britney level yet, LiLo is definitely winning.
