Diem Brown Passes Away from Cancer at age 32

Danielle “Diem” Brown, best known for her appearance on MTV’s The Challenge, passed away on Nov. 14 from a ten-year battle with cancer. Brown’s first claim-to-fame was appearing on Real World/Road Rules Challenge’s 12th season, Fresh Meat. She later went on to do six other challenges with the show and was known as the free-spirited, girl-next-door.
Many MTV lovers wondered after hearing about her passing, how her ex-boyfriend, who she’d met on The Challenge, Chris “CT” Tambuerello, was coping with her death.
Tambuerello shared this Instagram post with her mass card and a caption that could bring any fan of these two to tears.
“You have always been My Angel. And now you have your wings. We’ve been thru so much over the years. Thru the ups and downs we somehow managed to keep our promise. We never gave up on each other. Our plan to be together forever hasn’t changed… it’s just going to take a little longer now. And I’m going to hold onto this ring for you till we are together again. So don’t worry mama, I’m not afraid. I know you will always be with me to give me your strength. You are The Love of My Life. My reason to be a better man. I Love You Always and Forever.”
Brown was first diagnosed with ovarian cancer at 23, and became an inspiration for people with cancer when she revealed it on the show. Her ovarian cancer returned for a second time in 2012, but that didn’t stop Brown for being the fighter that she was. She started her own foundation, MedGift, which gives back to people battling a health related hardship. The site offers three different options that people can choose from: financial support, emotional support, or physical support.
Brown entered her last challenge on MTV this summer, where she collapsed during a competition and was diagnosed with colon cancer.
