Cyber Bullying Leads to Death

On September 29th, a freshman at Rutgers University, New Jersey, was confirmed dead. Tyler Clementi, 18 years old, from Ridgewood NJ, jumped off the George Washington Bridge after his roommate, Dharun Ravi, and his roommates’ friend, Molly Wei, set up a camera to watch Clementi and his gay lover having sex. Two videos were posted up on facebook, iChat, and 150 people were following Dharun Ravi’s posts on Twitter. When Clementi found out about these posts, the shy, kind-hearted boy, thought nothing could be done to fix this, except to escape from life. Wei and Dharun are charged with two accounts each, and could possibly serve up to five years in prison. The immature actions of two teenagers cost the life of another. Harming others by actions or words will never have a positive out come, and will make YOU the one held responsible. There are solutions to every problem, and remember, your actions effect others as well. As I’m sure you have heard before, treat others the way that you would like to be treated. You never know what kind of damage your actions can cause.
