Complexions to Come to BU

Get ready to see a diverse collection of dances when The Celebrity Artist Series brings Complexions Contemporary Ballet to Mitrani Hall at 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 21.

Complexions is under artistic direction of Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richardson. Richardson was nominated for a Tony award in 1999 and is claimed to be “one of the greatest modern dancers of his time,” according to the New York Times. This will be his last tour as a principle dancer with Complexions.

This dance group debuted in 1994 and has been seen on the hit television show So You Think You Can Dance in the U.S. as well as Australia. “The group’s foremost innovation is that dance should be about removing, not reinforcing, boundaries” says the Bloomsburg University Today Page.

+ Attention dancers: There will be a free workshop held by Assistant Ballet Mistress Sabra Perry at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 31. This workshop for advanced students of dance will be in Gross Auditorium in Carver Hall. Reservations are requested and should be emailed to Nancy Chiado at nchiado@bloomu.edu

+ Tickets are being sold at the box office in the Haas Center for the Arts and are $17 for students with BU ID and $34.50 for the general public.
