Spring break 2011 is right around the corner. For a lot of college students it’s a time to go away with friends to have fun. Spring break is known to be one of the craziest weeks for a lot of students. A lot of people wonder where the best places to vacation are.
There are many beautiful and fun places to go to. According to many students and online, these are the top 5. Number 5 goes to Jamaica. The two main destinations in Jamaica are Negril and Montego Bay. The weather is beautiful and so are the beaches. Also, Negril is now labeled the party capital of Jamaica. A lot of the resorts have open bar, so don’t worry about the alcohol. Number 4 goes to Europe. A lot of students like to go to Europe to explore the culture and the party scene. “I went to Amsterdam my sophomore year and let me tell you, it was crazy! Best spring break ever” said Jesse Wallace, a senior at Boston University. Although Europe doesn’t have palm trees, beaches and 90 degree weather, it’s definitely a place to go for spring break.

Number 3 goes to Panama City, Florida. Over 500,000 college students each year visit Panama City for spring break. It has over 27 miles of beautiful beaches of white and coffee colored sand. In some of the videos online of spring break in Panama City there were college kids doing keg stands on the beach and just having a good time. If you’re of age to drink in the United States then Panama City would be a blast! Number 2 goes to South Beach, Miami.

Night life in South Beach is dynamic with over 150 nightclubs. The weather is beautiful and there is so much to do and see. However, It’s not one of the cheapest locations. If you’re planning on going to Miami for spring break in the future, start saving up now! Finally, we get to number 1. The number 1 place to go to for spring break is Cancun, Mexico. Cancun has over 150 hotels with approximately 200,000 students visiting each year. The average temperature is 79 degrees making it one of the warmest locations in the Carribean. “I went to Cancun last year with my sorority and it was the best time of my life. There was open bar 24/7 and always people going crazy. We would walk on the beach and everyone would be dancing and drinking. Definitely tell everyone to go here for spring break!” said Larissa Tavares, a student at Arizona State University.
