Patrick Swayze Loses a Battle With Cancer

patrick-swayzePatrick Swayze, a well renowned actor for the past thirty years, lost his battle with cancer on Monday while in his home. Swayze was 57 years old and had been battling with pancreatic cancer since March 2008. Although the star was suffering from a deadly form of cancer, he was optimisitc and began to refocus on his career shortly after the diagnosis.

A new series, “The Beast” aired on A&E in early January 2009, which drew in over a million viewers. Swayze played a crooked FBI vetern, who was training a rookie about undercover work and how to not get killed. Although the show was initally a success, A&E did not sign for a second season.

Swayze was most famous for his hit roles in “Dirty Dancing” and “Ghost.” His natural ability to take on these lead roles, proved that Swayze was not only a talented actor but could be versatile in many different situations. Swayze became known for his dancing ability in “Dirtypatrick_swayze_cancer_treatment Dancing,” along with his hit line, “Nobody puts Baby in a corner.” In his younger days he appeared in “The Outsiders,” alongside Rob Lowe, Tom Cruise, Matt Dillon, and Diane Lane. Swayze went on to further prove himself as an actor by appearing in over fifteen more films.

Although the entertainment industry has lost one of its best actors, Swayze can be remembered through his phenomenal roles in a variety of films for years to come.
