This past weekend for Husky sports was one for the record books- literally. Several records were broken on the football team, with senior running back Franklyn Quiteh becoming the university’s and conference all-time leader in rushing yards. Senior kicker Dan Fisher also rewrote the record books, setting the conference record for kicking points, currently at 291. Here are the results for Bloomsburg’s sports teams over the past week.

 

Football: Defeated Edinboro 45-37 on Saturday, Sept. 14. Senior Frankyln Quiteh rushed for 238 yards and three touchdowns, and redshirt sophomore Dai’Shon Munger ran for 133 yards and two touchdowns. The Huskies’ next game is Saturday, Sept. 21 at Kutztown University. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Women’s Soccer: Defeated Chestnut Hill 2-1 in double overtime on Tuesday, Sept.10. They then lost 1-0 at Seton Hill on Friday, Sept.13. The women finished up their week with a 4-1 home victory against the University of Pitt-Johnstown. Freshman Jenna Fisher and junior Julia Rios each had two goals during the week for Bloomsburg. The Huskies’ next game will be Wednesday, Sept.18 at home, against East Stroudsburg. The game is slated to start at 5 p.m.

Men’s Soccer: Lost 2-1 to the N.Y. Institute of Technology on Tuesday, Sept. 10. The Huskies then lost 3-2 to Seton Hill on Friday, Sept. 13. Bloomsburg was able to recover and win their final game of the week, 1-0 at the University of Pitt-Johnstown. Four different Bloomsburg players scored during the week. The Huskies’ next game will be Wednesday, Sept.18 at home against Chestnut Hill. The game will start at 7:30 p.m.

Field Hockey: The women lost 4-2 at East Stroudsburg on Wednesday, Sept. 11. They followed that up with a 4-0 win at Bellarmine University on Saturday, Sept. 14. Bloomsburg finished their week with a 5-0 win against Lindenwood on Sunday, Sept. 15. Junior Felecia Domenici scored four goals for Bloom during the week, including a hat trick against Bellarmine. The Huskies’ next game will be Wednesday, Sept. 18, at Slippery Rock. The game will start at 4 p.m.

Men’s Cross Country: Bloomsburg finishedtenth as a team at the Division II Challenge at Kutztown University on Saturday, Sept. 14. Junior Kyle Phillips finished thirtieth with a time of 26.43. The Huskies’ next event will be Saturday, Sept.28, when they host the Husky Invitational.

Women’s Cross Country: Graduate student Vicki Davis won her second straight race, this time at the Division II Challenge at Kutztown University on Saturday, Sept.14. She finished with a time of 21:50. Junior Lauren Lehman finished sixth with a time of 22:42. The women took sixth place overall. The Huskies next event will be Saturday, Sept.28, when they host the Husky Invitational.
