Huskies defeat Lock Haven 56-10

Bloomsburg P.A.—The Bloomsburg football team, fresh off of a victory at Kutztown last weekend, defeated Lock Haven University 56-10 on Saturday, Sept. 28.
Senior running back Franklyn Quiteh rushed only 11 times, but recorded 205 yards and four total touchdowns. Quiteh, who last week broke former Husky Jamar Brittingham’s career and conference rushing record last week, surpassed 6,000 rushing yards for his career during the game. The communications major from Pocono Mt. West received a football prior to the game commemorating his record-breaking achievement. In addition, Brittingham, and another former Husky running back, Irvin Sigler, were both in attendance to help honor Quiteh.
Additional Huskies that had a big games included redshirt sophomore quarterback Tim Kelly, who completed 12 of 17 passes, and threw for four touchdowns and one interception. On the receiving end of the ball, senior wide receiver Glenn Hutton caught three passes for 67 yards and three touchdowns.
Also chipping in with the running game was redshirt freshman Joe Parsnik, who carried the ball 14 times for 102 yards. Redshirt sophomore Dai’Shon Munger recorded 12 carries for 81 yards, helping Bloomsburg’s three-pronged running attack keep Lock Haven’s defense on their heels all game long.
On the defensive side of the ball, junior cornerback Tomas Cabrera recorded six total tackles, and an interception that he took 82 yards in for a touchdown. Graduate student and senior defensive end Larry Webster totaled four tackles and an 11 yard sack. Also, redshirt freshman Travon Pugh recorded six total tackles and a 10 yard sack. Leading the Huskies in total tackles were redshirt junior Dylan Spangler and redshirt freshman Andrew Harris, who each recorded seven for the day.
The Huskies next game will be Saturday, Oct. 5, on the road against Gannon.
