BU Players To Perform Avenue Q This November

BU players are getting ready for their spotlight this semester as they take on Avenue Q, which is an American Musical with two acts containing music and lyrics written by Robert

Lopez, Jeff Marx and book by Jeff Whitty. Avenue Q addresses issues about coming-of-age into adulthood and asks the question “What’s your purpose in life?” The show is Sesame Street style, with a cast that consists of both human and puppet characters.

The plot surrounds a puppet named Princeton, a recent college graduate who moves into an apartment in New York located on Avenue Q. He meets many colorful characters such as his next-door neighbor, Kate Monster, The Republican, Rob, Internet “Sexpert,” Trekkie and Lucy, the Slut. During the story the characters help Princeton discover his purpose in life.

Avenue Q will be performed Thursday Nov. 7 through Nov. 9 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday Nov. 10 at 3:00 p.m. The musical will be held at the Alvina Krause Theatre located at 26 Center Street in downtown Bloomsburg.

Tickets are free for BU students with ID. Adults are $10 and Seniors are $8. Advanced tickets are available at the Haas Box Office.
