BU Civic Engagement Expo

Thursday, September 17th, will be a day long event including Constitution Day and the Community Care Fair. The events will take place in the Kehr Union, Multipurpose A & B, from 9:30AM through 4:00PM.
The Community Care Fair will offer students the opportunity to talk to representatives from local organizations that offer opportunities for internships, work-study, community service projects and more.

9:30-10:45AM: Panel: Censorship & a Free Society (McCormick 2303)
10:00-10:45AM: Panel: Campaign Donations as a Form of Free Speech
11:00-11:10AM: Welcome & Keynote Comments: Dr. Ira Blake, Interim Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs
11:10-12:45PM: Panel: Free Speech, Hate Speech & the Media
12:55-1:45PM: College Republicans
1:55-2:45PM: University Democrats
2:55-4:00PM: Debate: College Republicans vs. University Democrats

The Community Care Fair will offer students the opportunity to talk to representatives from local organizations that offer opportunities for internships, work-study, community service projects and more. Among those registered to appear are: Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble, Salvation Army Thrift Store, Girl Scouts of America, Columbia/Montour Family Health, Beyond Violence, Columbia/Montour Health and Hospice, SUNCOM Industries, United Way of Berwick, ACTION Health, Bloomsburg Ambulance Association, Women’s Center, Inc., Career Link, Your Loving Choices and Compeer Program.
