CU - Bloomsburg Events On Campus

Bloomsburg Shows Support for Jackie

Tomorrow, March 12, the Elwell staff will be hosting a program to show support for Jackie Lithgow. As many Bloomsburg students know, Jackie is in critical condition due to head injuries after a tragic off-campus incident on Feb. 23.

The events being hosted by the Elwell staff will include:

  • Making cards for Jackie and his family
  • Creating “Jackie Strong” black and orange wristbands & ribbons
  • Writing on a banner for Jackie’s parents to have them hang it in his hospital room
  • Donation information. Several BU organizations, students, and Jackie’s home town have set up accounts and T-shirt sales as fundraisers

The Counseling Center will also have an information table to make sure students know that they can be supported by services at BU. It’s never easy  when a loved one is in the hospital.

The event will run from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. in the back gym of the REC Center, and light refreshments will be served.

Also, Jackie’s family has put together a daily blog on Jackie’s progress on his marathon to recovery. To check it out click here.
