Bloomsburg Applebee’s Shooting Leaves 2 Dead

Bloomsburg Police report two are dead following a shooting at the Applebee’s restaurant in Bloomsburg. Police report the shooter is one of the dead. The shooting occurred just after 4 pm on Friday, May 22.

The Press Enterprise confirmed Saturday in a detailed story that Thomas Yurko of Orangeville fired several shots on Friday evening around 4.20 p.m. at Mark Wagner of Bloomsburg and killed him as he dined at Bloomsburg’s Applebee’s restaurant before fatally shooting himself with a single shot to the chin area.

BU Now originally reported Friday that BloomUtoday.com had initially confirmed that two people had been shot and killed inside the Applebee’s restaurant on Route 11 near Bloomsburg.

Bloomsburg Police Chief Leo Sokoloski told BloomUtoday.com at a Friday evening media interview that the alleged shooter was one of the two people confirmed dead. District Attorney Gary Norton said the public is in no danger. However they stopped short of saying that it was a murder-suicide. The Columbia County Coroner and Deputy Coroner were on the scene.
