“But I’m Kind of a Big Deal”

Have you ever woken up in the morning and thought to yourself how much you wanted to piss on excellence? Well, hey, who are we to judge, as odd as that is. It’s known that “legendary racecar driver,” Ricky Bobby, wakes up in the morning and pisses excellence. Only one comedic genius can make pissing excellence humanly possible, and well, let’s face it he’s “kind of a big deal.” From being a cast member of Saturday Night Live, to starring in a leading role in a wide variety of films like “Anchorman”, “Elf”, and “Talladega Nights: The Legend of Ricky Bobby,” Will Ferrell deserves all the credit given to him; and he is only at the prime of his career.
Ferrell, one of the great comedic genius’ of our time stayed classy on the streets of Hollywood Boulevard, on Tuesday, March 24 while he earned his star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame. Ferrell became the 2, 547 star on the Walk of Fame, along with the likes of fellow actors, directors, and other well known entertainment greats. Of course, it would be unlike Ferrell if he didn’t add some humor to this well deserved moment. While making a statement after the unveiling of his star, he stated, “I not only accept it, but will be here every day from 3 to 5 p.m. polishing the star. You can count on that.” The celeb was all smiles while sharing this moment with his family, close friends and fans.
Receiving a star on The Walk of Fame, is a well-known tradition in the entertainment industry that started back around the 1960’s. Today The Walk is a rather famous tourist attraction that brings in visitors from all over the world. What isn’t commonly known is that in order to have the honor of being forever immortalized along the streets of Hollywood, one must make quite the donation to The Hollywood Historic Trust. How much does a sponsor have to pay for a name to appear forever in a cemented star; only $30,000 made out to Hollywood’s Chamber of Commerce. Work hard, earn those paychecks and maybe someday you too can be “kind of a big deal.”
