A Bloomsburg University Student United Way has been created on campus—the new organization will partake in activities that will better the campus and the surrounding areas of Columbia County.

BLOOMSBURG UNIVERSITY, Bloomsburg, PA—A group of students has collaborated with the United Way of Columbia County to create a Student United Way on campus—the group has officially been recognized by United Way Worldwide and is now an official organization.

The organization will be advised by Dr. Shane Jaynes, Assistant Professor of Social Work, and will work closely with John Thomas, President and CEO of United Way of Columbia County.  The student group will be involved in a plethora of volunteer activities such as: The Big Event on March 31st, the United Way Day of Caring on April 21st, and the bi-annual Trash to Treasure sale held on May 19th.

Do you enjoy volunteering, making a difference, and being involved on your campus?  If so, we encourage you to join the BU Student United Way in its efforts to better the campus and the community of Columbia County!  If you’re interested in joining the BU Student United Way or attending a meeting, please e-mail secretary Megan Stuono at mes21245@huskies.bloomu.edu!
