Bloomsburg University Hosts First Dance Marathon

BLOOMSBURG, PA – The Bloomsburg University Dance Ensemble organized the first Bloomsburg University Dance Marathon to benefit Children’s Miracle Network at Geisinger on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017.
Students and community members gathered at Nelson Field House for a fun day of charitable giving. From sumo wrestling, to a freeze dance competition, participants continuously increased funds to support local children. Miracle families attended to share their heroic journey and solidify the importance of the Bloomsburg University Dance Marathon.
With the support of the Bloomsburg University Alumni Association sponsorship, BU Dance Ensemble had to ability to bring this first-year event to life.
“The Bloomsburg University Alumni Association is proud to support the first Dance Marathon organized by the BU Dance Ensemble. We commend the group for seeking a philanthropic opportunity to benefit children being treated at Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital. The BUAA is committed to sponsoring BU students as they seek to make a positive impact on the lives of others. Their contributions are an excellent reflection on the values being taught at BU,” said Barbara Romano, Bloomsburg University Alumni Association President.
The first Bloomsburg University Dance Marathon raised $5,378.00 for Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital. Donations will continue to be accepted at https://events.dancemarathon.com/event/BUDM2017 until Nov. 30. All proceeds help provide funding for services, programs, and equipment.
