‘Block Party’ No Way! ‘Springfest’ OKAY!

As many of you know, the annual Block Party event is this weekend. Many are ready to take part in the activities associated with the event; however, many others are looking for alternatives and other activities to do throughout the weekend.

The first annual “Springfest” is going on this Saturday April 16, 2011. “Carnival” will be the theme of the event. It will take place from noon until 4 p.m. Some different activities going on will be: Zumba, athletic events, tie-dye, outdoor picnic, prince and princess awards, lawn games along with many other fun and exciting events.

The quest organization is also getting in on the fun. The high adventure course and climbing walls on Upper Campus will be open throughout the day for those who wish to do that. Also, on Saturday afternoon is a picnic and games of sand volleyball at Honeysuckle Apartments.

The Office of Residence life is sponsoring the event, in collaboration with Quest, Intramurals, and D.A.S.L. (Developing Ambitious Student Leaders)

This is the perfect opportunity for those individuals not interested in Block Party activities to still be involved with the campus and local communities over the weekend. Although the weather will not be cooperating as many would like, it does not mean that you should not have the chance to have a fun and exciting weekend.
