See if you can recognize the following musician through these facts:

This Detroit native is a musician, record producer, and on occasion, an actor. He formed a band in 1997 with his wife at the time and became one of the biggest alternative rock acts of the 2000s. Three of this band’s albums won the Grammy award for “Best Alternative Music Album.” He is ranked in Rolling Stone magazine on their list of “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.” Today, he is involved with his record label known as “Third Man Records.”

Still don’t know who this is? Well, here’s the answer: John Anthony Gillis, who is better known by his stage name, Jack White.

Still not familiar with White? Don’t feel bad; neither are his neighbors.

Last week, White joined a potluck dinner that was being hosted by his neighbors. Long story short, his neighbors had no idea who he was. It wasn’t until writer Jedidiah Jenkins received a message from his sister about the potluck that was hosted by his mother each year that they put it together. Apparently, Jenkins’ mother has been hosting this for the past 10 years at his childhood home; White just never showed up. According to Jenkins, White apologized for traveling so much and missing this neighborhood gathering over the years. He even gathered for a group picture with the rest of the neighbors.

Jenkins posted a photo to his Instagram account and explained the story. See picture below.Screen Shot 2015-10-13 at 3.50.27 PM

The next time a family gathering takes place at my house, I hope Paul McCartney shows up!
