Scratching and Clawing

Bloomsburg football leans on defense heavily, while offense just does enough to win season opener 10-7 against Ashland University on Saturday, Aug. 27.

BU Wrestling Finishes Third at EWL Championship

While most Bloomsburg University students were putting the finishing touches on their spring break, the university’s wrestling team competed at the Eastern Wrestling League (EWL) Championships on March 7th. The team finished third with 88.5 points, trailing only West Virginia (95.5) and Edinboro (126.5). The third place finish was the best for the team since 1993, when they claimed the title.

Men’s Tennis Hopes for Return to National Courts

“Kutztown and Mercyhurst are going to be tough competitors - no question,” said Glubo. “I feel all three of us [teams] have great players, but the thing that will separate us is our work ethic, and how hard we all work on and off the court, and in the end we shall prevail.”

Bloom Falls to Edinboro in Valiant Effort

The Bloomsburg University wrestling team lost an EWL match to the Edinboro Fighting Scots on Thursday, February 5 by a score of 25-12. The Huskies (7-7, 2-3) competed with Edinboro (10-4, 4-0), who are ranked 13th in the latest USA Today/Intermat/NWCA polls.

Wrestling Repeats Close Loss Against West Chester

The EWL match had a similar feel to a year ago, when the Huskies won the first three bouts of the night, before dropping six of the last seven, which was again the case this year.

Huskies Host National Power, Drop Tough Match

In the next contest the Huskies’ number 10 Matt Moley faced Tyler Grayson. Moley quickly grabbed hold of the match, earning a takedown in the first 25 seconds, then tilting his opponent for three sets of three-point near falls, ending the period with an 11-0 lead. After not much action in the middle period, the third period saw Moley earn a takedown and a quick two back points to win the match by technical fall, 16-0. The win brought the team to within a point of the visitors at 6-5.

What goes around comes around
