Manhattan Saxophone Ensemble to be special guests for jazz concert

The Manhattan Saxophone Ensemble will be the special guests during the Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania’s Jazz Ensemble concert on Friday, March 26, at 7 p.m. in Mitrani Hall, Haas Center for the Arts. Admission is free and open to the public.

Recyclemania returns to BU

Recyclemania began Sunday, Jan. 17, at 607 schools representing 49 states, the District of Columbia and Canada. The competition is held to determine who recycles the most per capita, who produces the least amount of waste and who recycles the largest percentage overall.

Author Alison Bechdel to speak at BU

Alison Bechdel, author of the graphic memoir, "Fun Home," and the syndicated comic strip, "Dykes to Watch Out For," will speak about her work Monday, March 1, at 7 p.m, in Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania's Centennial Hall, room 218. The lecture is open to the public free of charge.

New exhibit, ‘Saved,’ featured in Haas Gallery

“Saved,” an exhibit of photographs by visiting artist Jody Servon that record precious mementos and family heirlooms, will open Tuesday, Feb. 16, in the gallery of Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania’s Hass Center for the Arts.

National Teach-in on Global Warming Solutions to be held BU

The second annual National Teach-In on Global Warming Solutions will be held at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania's Kehr Union on Thursday, Feb. 18, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The keynote speech will be given by John C. Dernbach, environmental lawyer and law professor at Widener School of Law.

Quest adding 5k race to Winter Festival

A 5K race will be added to this year's activities for the Human-Powered Winter Festival at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. The second annual festival is sponsored by Quest, a leadership development program on campus, and will be held Saturday, Jan. 30, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the climbing wall on upper campus.

Professor to discuss college student comparisons

Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania's International Studies Living and Learning Community Lecture Series will feature "Do You Think Your Roommate is Better than You?" Wednesday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m. in the Living and Learning Community Center, Columbia Residence Hall, room 119.

BU awarded grant to improve energy efficiency

Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania will save approximately $33,300 in annual energy costs through campus improvements completed with the help of a $250,000 grant awarded through Pennsylvania's Conservation Works! program.
