Lol no. Coming from a guy like me who’s a huge fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), there are definitely not too many Marvel movies coming out.

Since 2008 with the release of Iron Man, Marvel Studios has been pumping out superhero films and raking in the cash. Now, I’ll admit that some of the sequels like Iron Man 2 and Avengers: Age of Ultron, haven’t been the best movies out there, but they’ve still managed to get me to the theater to see them.

Marvel has a great thing going. They introduce heroes through standalone films or in films containing other heroes. For example, in the upcoming film Captain America: Civil War (which I’m REALLY excited for), we will all get introduced to Black Panther while also diving further into the stories of other heroes. Audiences will also get their first taste of Spider-Man in the MCU. Civil War is sure to blow audiences away, and I’ve already got my tickets ready to go.

Besides the better known heroes like Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor, Marvel has been able to successfully introduce lesser known heroes to the MCU. Films like Guardians of the Galaxy and Ant-Man have let us meet the lesser known heroes and brought them into the MCU. Ant-Man will appear in Civil War and the Guardians of the Galaxy will return in May of 2017 with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

The next film scheduled for release after Civil War is Doctor Strange who will be played by Benedict Cumberbatch. You can watch the first trailer for that below and read about it here.

Marvel Studios hasn’t been releasing all these films for nothing. Each one plays a part in the progression and expansion of the MCU which seems to all be leading up to the 2018 and 2019 releases of Avengers: Infinity War Parts One and Two. Not much has been confirmed yet, but it looks as if a good number of the heroes we have seen so far will all team up to take on Thanos, the most powerful being in the Universe.

Audiences have gotten minor glimpses of Thanos from Guardians of the Galaxy as well as the post-credits scene from Avengers: Age of Ultron seen below:

The MCU has also shown us some of the Infinity Stones which Thanos will try to acquire for his Infinity Gauntlet, a metal, glove-like object that lets him control all aspects of life. It’s pretty crazy. You can read about it here.

All in all, what Marvel has been able to do in the last eight years has been spectacular. With each movie release, the MCU gets bigger and better. The best part is that they are not done yet. More movies are slated to release up until 2019 with the second part of Infinity War, yet untitled films are also in the works. If you’re a superhero fan like me, you’ve got a lot to be excited for in the next three years. Until then, the next film to hit theaters is Captain America: Civil War on May 6.
