The recent ups and downs with Amanda Bynes have certainly caught the media’s eye. According to www.eonline.com, every move the beloved child star has recently made has been criticized by media sources, such as US Weekly and Perez-Hilton.com, causing her to threaten a lawsuit for defamation of character.

Bynes’ recent actions, such as her dramatic tweets concerning rap star Drake, odd behavioral appearances, such as walking around with a sweater on top of her head in New York and some serious style faux pas have caused media personalities, such as Perez Hilton, to question the stability of her mental health. Hilton interviewed clinical psychiatrist, Dr. Mark Goulston, concerning Bynes’ behavior.

“What happens with a lot of these celebrities is that, first of all they are exhausted,” said Goulston according to perezhilton.com. “Their lives are exhausting. When you are sleep deprived, you get a little crazy. [They may also] self medicate.”

Last April, the “She’s the Man” star was charged with a DUI after side swiping another car while driving in Hollywood, according to The Huffington Post. Fed up with all the criticism about her behavior within the past year, Bynes tweeted on Thursday, “I’m suing @usweekly & @perezhilton for continuing to act like I’m doing something wrong by tweeting and walking to photoshoots. F–k you!!!!” Hilton responded by re-tweeting the tweet and adding “Good morning to you too!”

According to an article written on Yahoo! OMG, Beverly Hills litigation attorney, Timothy Gorry, said the law suit will be an uphill battle, “As long as they’re not posting anything knowingly false, the first amendment pretty much protects them.”

Being a public figure, Bynes’s actions are constantly in the media whether they’re good or bad. Should the former child star follow through with the law suit? Read about her erratic tweets, actions, outfit choices and more at http://perezhilton.com/category/amanda-bynes#.UVl7i4ZWVEM.
