On October 6th, a Connecticut jury began deliberating just how much far right conspiracist, Alex Jones, will pay the families of the victims of the 2012 Sandy Hook mass shooting for claiming the shooting was a hoax.
In April 2013, just 4 months after the shooting, Jones pushed the narrative on his show Inforwars, that the families of the Sandy Hook incident were “crisis actors” and that their emotions were fake.
Between 2013 and 2018, multiple lawsuits were made against Jones and four entities connected to him, one being Free Speech Systems LLC, which hosts his radio show and webcast.
Christopher Mattei, a lawyer for the families, made a testimony which read “ Every single one of these families (was) drowning in grief, and Alex Jones put his foot right on top of them” he told jurors.
On October 12th 2022, a Connecticut jury ordered Alex Jones to owe at least $965 million in damages to many families of victims of the Sandy Hook Shooting.
