Get in the know: STD testing

Nightlife at Bloom can get pretty wild, so it’s best to stay on top of your sexual health. Failing to recognize sexually transmitted diseases is extremely easy and most symptoms go completely unnoticed. As a student you should know about your options and how to continue on being a healthy sexual partner.
Thursday, Sept. 18 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., the Student Health Center (KUB) will be holding free STD testing. Sponsored by the Caring Communities there is no appointment necessary and it is available for all students. Another round of testing will be provided Thursday, Nov. 20 with the same hours and location.
If you find the need for testing somewhere in between those dates, McCormick Center for Human Services (MCHS) room 3144 is the place to be. Family Health Services The Columbia/Montour Family Health Representatives are there every Monday to fulfill your needs. They provide gynecological exams, birth control, pregnancy testing and counseling at reduced fees for students. STD testing and treatments are FREE. This includes service for males and females and they even test for HIV. Making an appointment is necessary and can easily be made by calling 570-387-0236.
If you have an unprotected encounter or simply feel its time to get checked, please take note of these options. Staying on top of your health is key in enjoying your Bloomsburg experience.
