Acapella for a Cause-A Benefit for The Women’s Center, Inc.

Bloomsburg, PA– On Thursday, Apr. 25, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church held the community’s first Acapella for a Cause. The event featured local musicians to fundraise for The Women’s Center, Inc. of Bloomsburg.
The acapella concert included the Bloomsburg University’s Women’s Choral Ensemble, Husky Singers, Leading Tones and Concert Choir. In addition to the students representing the university, the event also showcased skilled vocalists from Hazelton Area High School, the choir at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, the choir of the First Presbyterian Church in Bloomsburg and the choir of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Bloomsburg University’s Music Department organized the benefit concert that was held in a seemingly perfect acoustic setting at St. Paul’s. “It’s nice to bring these groups together,” said Alan Baker, director of Bloomsburg University’s Concert Choir. “It’s great to raise money for a good cause.”
