Basketball Tournament to be Held in Memory of Student Aaron Klinger
Determined to keep Aaron’s memory alive and the scholarship fund successful, his friends and family have organized the Aaron Klinger Memorial Basketball Tournament.

On January 18th, 2009, Aaron M. Klinger, a fellow student at Bloomsburg University, lost his life in a tragic car accident. He was a senior majoring in exercise science with aspirations of becoming a kinesiologist. In remembrance, his parents, Mike and Becky Klinger, have established a scholarship fund at Milton Area Senior High School where Aaron excelled in the classroom and in sports.
The Aaron Michael Klinger Memorial Scholarship will be annually awarded to a student who also excels academically and athletically, with a passion for exercise science, just like Aaron.
In order for the fund to become self-sustaining, it must accumulate a substantial amount of money. Determined to keep Aaron’s memory alive and the scholarship fund successful, his friends and family have organized the Aaron Klinger Memorial Basketball Tournament.
The first tournament of hopefully many, will be held at 11 a.m. on March 28th at the Bloomsburg Rec Center. It is a 5-on-5, co-ed tournament that is open to Bloomsburg students as well as to the public. Registration fee will be $35. Registration forms can be picked up from the Bloomsburg YMCA, Rec Center, and the Student Parent Association office located in the SOLVE office. You can also visit www.jtwofilms.com to print a registration form.
Along with the basketball tournament, there will be a slam dunk and three-point contest. Prizes will be awarded. Even if you do not chose to enter the tournament, you can offer support by buying a tournament t-shirt, or by making a donation. Any and all forms of support are significantly appreciated.
All proceeds will go to the Aaron Klinger Memorial Scholarship Fund and the Bloomsburg Childcare Center, at the request of Aarons’ parents.
