A Dramatic Change in Gear; Marvel Announces Men’s Fashion Line

Our favorite men fashion icons may need to step aside, because the nerds just might be catching up with style! Aside from blowing their audiences away in the recreation of some of the most cherished comic book heroes and villains, it seems Marvel is taking a major move from designing Superhero skin tight armor, to simple, sleek and sexy Secret Identity gear.
For my men who like to switch it up and enjoy the classic button ups, blazers and chino pants over the regular graphic tees and athletic gear majority of the time, this collection designed by Marvel themselves will be something to keep your eyes on.
Marvel (yes Marvel of the Avengers, Spiderman, Captain America and X-Men) has partnered with the subscription fashion service ‘Five Four’ to produce a fashion line that is defined as a series of “elevated and confident men’s apparel capsule collections that bring together Marvel’s iconic legacy, Super Hero characters and storytelling with fashion-forward innovation.”
Now, you may not be able to get Thor’s banging-bod, Captain America’s strong jaw line, or the Hulk’s massive muscles; but this line should help our fab men, and nerds, sleek up their style.
The fashion line is said to consist of dress shirts, graphic tees, accessories and outerwear. Set for a release launch this Wednesday April 1 to all Five Four Club Members. The brand plans to focus on extending such “iconic character-based entertainment brand into contemporary fashion.” The fashion line describes Marvel’s collection as “subtle and refined” and the personality of the clothing being “the personality behind a Marvel Superhero.”
For any men interested, Five Four Club monthly memberships retail for $60 with full outfits based on members style favorites included. The collection was recently unveiled in an exclusive exhibition pop-up store at Openhouse Gallery of the Lower East Side in New York City to further promote the new collection from March 26-29. Here’s some special information from their Press release;
“Our designers really dug through the Marvel archives to find new ways to recreate the heritage and evolution behind the brand and its Super Heroes,” says Andres Izquieta, co-founder and CEO of Five Four. “We’re so excited for the opportunity to work with Marvel; the collections showcase some of our best designs to date.”
“From reversible shirts and hidden pockets, to classic Avengers emblems and comics hidden in the inside lining of the clothing, each item in the capsule is classic in appearance but unique in detail.”
